University of Muhammadiyah Malang or often abbreviated UMM this is one of the largest private universities in East Java. University of Muhammadiyah Malang founded in 1964, universitay of muhammadiyah malang innitially is a branch of the University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta on 1 July 1968. Universiy of Muhammadiyah Malang became on official university stand-alone (apart from University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta), the maintenance in the hand of University of Muhammadiyah Malang Foundation of Higher Education, the notary deed R. Sudiono, No.2 dated 1 July 1968. The subsequent development of this certificate was renewed by the Notary G. Kamarudzaman 7 Date June 6, 1975 and updated again with Deed Noteris Kumalasari, SH No.. 026 dated 24 November 1988 and listed on court No. Negri Malang. 88/PP/YYS/XI/1988 dated 28 November 1988.
University of Muhammadiyah Malang have a motto "Dari Muhammadiyah untuk Bangsa" with this motto UMM attempted to produce generations of young people qualified successor. Education provided at UMM emphasizes noble spirit, in order to create a clean generation.
